explore Visible From Your IP Address
IP geolocation provides an approximate location associated with your internet routing point or Internet Service Provider (ISP), rather than GPS-level physical positioning of your device.
If you are connected through a VPN (Virtual Private Network) or proxy tunnel, this tool will detect and analyze the VPN's public exit IP and show the location and network associated with that exit server.
privacy_tip Privacy & Data Security Notice
This tool uses your public IP address to retrieve approximate network and location information. IP-based location is approximate and may reflect a VPN or proxy server rather than your physical location.
ROGX Tech does not maintain an IP tracking database or store your personal network footprints. Lookups are processed on demand during your session.
contact_support Frequently Asked Questions
Why does the displayed city differ from my exact physical location?
Public IP addresses belong to blocks allocated to Internet Service Providers (ISPs). Geolocation databases map IP blocks to the ISP's regional distribution hubs or gateways. Depending on how your ISP routes local traffic, the detected location may be a nearby city or central regional exchange.
What is an ASN (Autonomous System Number)?
An Autonomous System (AS) is a massive collection of connected IP routing prefixes controlled by a single network operator or ISP (such as MTN, AT&T, Google, or Cloudflare). An ASN (e.g. AS329057) uniquely identifies that network on the global Border Gateway Protocol (BGP) routing table.
How does a VPN alter the detected information?
When a VPN is enabled, your internet traffic is encrypted and routed through a remote VPN server. Websites and servers only see the VPN server's public exit IP, meaning the displayed ISP, city, and country will reflect the VPN server's location rather than your original network.
What is the difference between IPv4 and IPv6?
IPv4 uses 32-bit numeric addresses (e.g. 197.210.226.15) allowing approximately 4.3 billion total addresses. IPv6 uses 128-bit hexadecimal notation (e.g. 2600:1700:bab0::1) providing virtually limitless unique addresses to support the growth of the global internet.
